Essential Oils As The Universal Helpers At Home, In The Office Or In The Car

Almost everyone has already bumped into essential oils. At least during the winter time, when people desire to warm their houses up with a candle light as well as to create a cosy atmosphere with some pleasant smell. However, many people don't know the essential oils aren't just drops used into the aroma lamps; they could have a very large use.

There are many kinds of the essential oils. Each of them possess different properties related to a plant it is obtained from. For example, lemon oil refreshes, increases mental alertness and it can help your digestion when used inertly. Mint has similar properties; in addition it can evoke a feeling of fullness. Contrary to these ones, lavender and clove have mostly calming effects. They could create an ideal atmosphere for relaxing or dreaming.

Eucalyptus is really helpful against breathing difficulties. We could continue in this list infinitely. That was one of the reasons that we in the Vitalvibe have decided to focus on the essential oils in three-part's mini series where we will try to give you a better idea about their broad range of use.

So in the following articles you can look forward to our tips of use of the essential oils for the exterior body care as well as for the interior one: your health.

Today's article is going to launch this trilogy practically. You will be able to test your new gained knowledge directly at home, in the office or in the car.

Make a pleasant atmosphere in places you spent most time

The most profited property of the essential oils is their smell. This can be chosen according to the situation or our state of mind. Lavender can release nervous tension, reduce depressions and lull us to sleep. On the other hand, citrus aroma cheers you up for a long day and if we also use mint, we will stimulate our concentration as well.

The simplest and the cheapest way to perfume your flat, office or car, is a production of an aromatic essence to a spray. It is sufficient to fill in the spray container with water and add a few drops of your favourite oil. Moreover, some surfaces as a baby car seat, sheets, carpets or curtains could absorb this blend, which provide a long gradual release of the aroma.

We can also use a diffuser or an aroma lamp, but! Some high quality essential oils, like the ones from Young Living included in our offer, can't be used in any aroma lamps. High temperature damages its effect.

Tip 1: Do you suffer from sleeplessness? Try to prepare a blend of lavender essential oil and spray gently your sheets with it.

Tip 2: Perfume your car without using any chemical tree fresheners . To make your own freshener you will need a piece of a cotton felt or a cutting of an old carpet or another firm cloth. You will cut out an arbitrary shape, drop it with essential oil and hang it up into your car. When the aroma  fades away, you don't have to throw your freshener away. You just need to drop it with oil again.

Eco house

Have a clean house doesn't have to result in polluting  the environment with chemicals. Ask yourself a question. Do you really want to threaten the environment you are living in, cloths you are wearing on your body or dishes you eat from by detergents with a health threatening label on the wrap?

In Vitalvibe we definitely prefer ecological cleaning which is not only environment-friendly but it also makes the environment better. If we use essential oils during cleaning, their aroma has positive impact on our mind as a bonus. There are some tips how to do it:

  1. Desinfection

For cleaning your toilets, baths, basins or a kitchen sinks it is ideal to use tea tree oil which is highly antibacterial. Put a half cup of white vinegar into a spray, add hot water and finish with 5-6 drops of tea tree oil. For more freshness you can also add 3 drops of lemon essential oil. After the application, let the blend work for about thirty minutes and then wash up the surface. Rosemary or clove have also the antibacterial effect.

  2. Mirrors & Windows

Polish grease and smudges with a blend of a ¼ cup of white vinegar, 2 cups of water and 12 drops of lemon essential oil. The simplest way for the application is a spray.

  3. Dishes

Fill a sink with hot water, add 1 cup of white vinegar and 10-15 drops of a lemon or an orange essential oil. Then wash your dirty dishes in this liquid.

  4. Floors

Add 25-30 drops of essential oil into a bucket with hot water. The ideal combination is eucalyptus with lemon or lavender. This blend gets the floor rid of the grease, disinfects it without drying up your skin as classic chemical products do.

  5. Laundry

Add 10-20 drops of essential oil directly into the drum of your washing machine instead of a softener immediately after the rinsing. Your clothes will smell nice and on top of that they will be protected from parasites.

  6. Grease

A blend of ½ cup of bicarbonate, ½ cup of sodium carbonate, ½ cup of salt, ½ cup of white vinegar and 10 drops of lemon essential oil will cope easily with grease on a cooker. Water down this mixture to obtain a dense paste. This amount will be enough for several  applications.

  7. WC Freshener

When the gel from your freshener fades away, don't throw the plastic container out. You'd better wash it carefully and put a cotton pad in impregnated with some fresh lemon essential oil. You will see how long it will serve you.

  8. Pests

Mosquitos, clothes moths and fleas from your pets can't stand the smell of clove or tea tree. It is enough to put one of these oils into a spray with water and you can say good bye to the insects.

  9. Shoe Odor

During a night let a cotton pad or a tissue soaked with cinnamon essential oil in your shoes. Not only your shoes will smell nice next morning, but               thanks to the antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties of cinnamon you will prevent development of fungus or mycosis.

I really hope we have inspired you with our tips and that you will think about the ways how to combine nice with useful like we have done. Take care about the environment and about your health! It is just so simple and pleasant as well. We are looking forward to you in a next part.
