Contribution to the protection of the rainforest

Rainforests cover only a fraction of the Earth's surface but harbour more than half of all living species. The Amazon rainforest is rightly called the 'green lung of the planet' - it absorbs carbon, produces oxygen and influences the climate across the globe. What happens to the Amazon affects us too.

But forests are disappearing fast. Trees are giving way to mining, cattle ranching and gold miners. Scientists warn that we are approaching a tipping point where the rainforest will become a dry savannah. Every hectare saved is worth something.

Why are we protecting the rainforest?

At Vitalvibe, we import and sell natural products from all over the world. It is impossible not to leave an ecological footprint, even if we do our best to minimize it. We are aware of this and therefore actively try to support and give back to nature.

We have been supporting local tree planting in the Czech Republic for several years. And on a personal level we support many other environmental projects. Now we have decided to get involved with Vitalvibe where wildlife is critically endangered - in the Amazon rainforest.

We are working with our friends from the Czech NGO Forest.inkwhich:

• buys up endangered land and protects it from logging,
• planting trees and restoring disturbed landscapes,
• works with local communities to build sustainable livelihoods,
• all with respect for nature and people.

Helping this organisation has a real impact. Every contribution protects a piece of wild nature and gives hope to the communities that depend on it.

Donate to help not only the forest, but also the people

Protecting the rainforest is primarily about biodiversity, valuable flora and fauna, countless plant and animal species and the entire ecosystem. But it's also about the people who live there and about supporting and educating them. Forest.ink shows local communities that the prospect of making a quick profit from destroying the forest is short-sighted and offers them more sustainable livelihood options in the long term.

Forest.ink works with local farmers and indigenous people: buying their products in a fair way (e.g. cocoa, wayusu or traditional handicrafts) so that they do not have to sell their land to irresponsible mining companies.

By contributing to the protection of the rainforest, we are therefore supporting not only nature, but also the families and communities that are closely linked to it.

What Forest.ink has already achieved

Forest.ink has been working directly in the Amazon jungle for a long time, and their work has had visible results. In their eight years of work, they have managed to preserve 88 hectares of forest that would otherwise very likely have given way to logging or agricultural pressure.

They are currently working to save another 85 hectares or so of this unique area, which contains rare cascading waterfalls considered sacred by local communities.

To make their work as transparent as possible, Forest.ink operates as an officially registered association with a transparent account. All money goes directly to the protection of the Amazon rainforest.

Forest.ink also works closely with experts - it is part of a consortium led by Mendel University in Brno and involves scientists from universities in Ecuador. Their work has also been supported by Czech Television, which produced the documentary Mise: Amazonie a my.

How does the contribution work?

Choose any amount you want to donate(20 CZK, 100 CZK, 500 CZK or 1000 CZK) and add it to your cart as a product. Your contribution will go directly to Forest.ink, which will use the money to protect the Ecuadorian Amazon.

Where exactly does my donation go?

To protect the rainforest in the Morona Santiago region of Ecuador. Forest.ink buys up threatened land, restores disturbed landscapes, monitors biodiversity and works with local communities.

Can I help in other ways than financially?

Yes. You can also help personally - Forest.ink organises volunteer expeditions to the Amazon rainforest and fundraising events in the Czech Republic. Just choose the form that is closest to you.

Will I get a certificate or a receipt?

We do not issue special certificates at the moment. However, if you need a certificate for your own purposes, write to us - we will find an individual solution.
