Functional cordyceps mushroom

Cordyceps (Chinese caterpillar fungus, lat. Cordyceps sinensis) is a functional mushroom that is highly valued in traditional Chinese medicine. It grows in the mountainous regions of Tibet and China and has been used for thousands of years to promote vitality, physical performance, endurance, and libido.

The power of the extract

This product contains a high-quality extract of the Cordyceps sinensis CS-4 strain. The Cordyceps is processed using a two-step extraction method – first with hot water, then with alcohol. As a result, the extract contains a high concentration of bioactive compounds such as polysaccharides (including beta-glucans) and cordycepin.

The extract is standardised to contain more than 30% polysaccharides and 0.5% adenosine.

For most functional mushrooms, extracts are produced from the fruiting bodies. In the case of Cordyceps CS-4, the extract is produced from the mycelium (mycelium), which is richer in active compounds than the fruiting bodies.

To produce 1 kg of extract, 15 kg of mushrooms are used – making it a 15:1 extract.
