6 Natural Tips for Summer Beauty

It is time to welcome the second half of summer holidays. Some of us have already enjoyed their holidays, whereas some of us are looking forward to it. It doesn’t matter if you prefer relaxing at the seaside or hiking in the mountains, we all have one thing in common. And this is the sun. In previous parts, you might have read about how to travel with superfoods and how to cure summer nuisances. Today, we’re offering several cosmetic tips that keep your skin all smooth and hydrated.

6 Natural Tips for Summer Beauty

The sun has lately been connected with the term of ‘skin cancer’ but it still has a lot of benefits that are necessary to take advantage of. Short time in the sun will ensure you with increase of D-vitamin, which strengthens your immunity, protects bones, or relieves inflammatory symptoms. Also the production of both white and red blood cells increases, which also activate the immune system. There are also other less known benefits such as disposal of dangerous substances on the surface of your skin and production of substances (endorphins, serotonin, melatonin) that make us happier.


1) Natural sun lotion

In nowadays’ market, you can find plenty of sun lotions. However, they often contain dangerous substances that can really contribute to skin cancer. We have prepared a tip for you how to make your own sun lotion that is completely natural and harmless to your skin.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup of beeswax (jojoba wax for vegans)
  • ½ cup of coconut oil
  • 28 g of raspberry seed oil
  • 28 g of soya oil
  • 28 g of wheat sprout oil
  • 2 tablespoons of carrot oil
  • 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
  • 4 capsules of E-vitamin (smashed)
  • 15 drops of lavender oil (or your favourite essential oil apart from citrus and bergamot that may rather irritate the skin)

Instructions:

Firstly, melt the wax in a pot with boiling water. Then add coconut oil and wait until everything becomes liquid. After that, pour this mixture into a blender and add the rest of the ingredients. Pour the lotion into a closable glass stored in a cold spot.


2) After sun butter

If you are interested in SPF (Sun Protection Factor), then coconut oil and cocoa butter are claimed to have a minimal protection factor (SPF 1 – 8). On the other hand, raspberry oil is claimed to have the value of SPF 28 – 59, which is capable of protecting you. So it is advisable to use coconut oil and cocoa butter preferably as after sun care as body butter, which works fantastically for dry skin. You can find our tip for universal body butter here.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup of coconut oil
  • ¼ cup of unrefined shea butter
  • 2 tablespoons of almond oil
  • 12 drops of lavender essential oil

Instructions:

Firstly let the coconut oil and shea butter melt in a water bath. When the mixture is melted, mix it thoroughly and add almond oil. Let the mixture become thick in a fridge. After approximately two hours, try to press your finger into the mixture and if you can see your print, start to mix the mixture with a kitchenaid robot. Finally, add twelve drops of essential oil and mix it until the mixture is creamy and soft.

3) Homemade conditioner

The same care should be devoted to our hair that is very dry because of the sun or salt water. The best recipe for damaged hair is conditioner that is nutritional for hair ends and gives your hair natural gloss.

Ingredients:

  • 4–5 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 3–5 drops of mint oil
  • 3–5 mint of rosemary oil

Instructions:

If you have middle-length hair, warm four tablespoons of coconut oil in a water bath. After that, add 3-5 drops of each oil. Rub the ready mask into your skin and hair ends. You can apply the mask for 30 minutes or you can apply it over a night. An important step is to wash the mask out of hair thoroughly. If your hair is rather greasy, you can use lemon and cypress oil instead of rosemary oil.


4) Essential aroma oils

You can easily summon the summer peace with a diffuser that can evoke pleasant atmosphere and at the same time, refreshing oils releasing into the air will cool you down.

Variant 1:

  • 2 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops of orange essential oil
  • 2 drops of Ylang Ylang essential oil

Variant 2:

  • 2 drops of Stress Away oil
  • 2 drops of lemon oil
  • 2 drops of Peace&Calming oil

5) Hydrated body

An important subpart of summer care is especially hydration. Your drinking regime can be diversified with adding green superfoods and instant coconut water. This naturally contains a high content of essential electrolytes supporting life functions. Young barley will ensure internal protection of cells against harmful kinds of sunshine. Likewise, we will find there beta carotene, B-vitamins, E-vitamin, the whole complex of mineral substances or essential fatty acids.

6) Healthy skin and hair
