Spiced bread superfood streusel
According to statistics, bread is the most frequently thrown away food in households. One of the tips on how to use old bread is to make a great spiced streusel out of it. It adds flavor everywhere and deepens the flavors even more! It is perfect as a sprinkle on soup or spread, in yogurt, or in salad or grilled vegetables. It's really easy to prepare and you can keep it in a jar for future occasions.
5 - 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 70 g old rye bread
- 20 g goji
- 20 g crushed cocoa beans
- 1 teaspoon chili – according to spiciness
- ½ teaspoon Himalayan salt
- ⅓ teaspoon whole cumin
- a pinch of cardamom and coriander
Instructions:
We can use semi-dry bread, or put it in the toaster for a while and let it cool. Put all the ingredients except the cocoa beans into a powerful blender. We mix with a few short presses of the "pulse" until everything is pulverized, but at the same time slightly larger pieces of bread remain. Add cocoa beans halfway through the process.
Once we are satisfied with the consistency, we can use the crumb straight away, or we can dry it in the oven at 150°C and then store it in a closed container.
Enjoy your meal!
